China’s Zipper Turnout Exceeding 10 Billion Meters

As a necessary accessory for apparel and luggage, zippers have always been overlooked due to their small size in dimension and accordingly the zipper industry have been developing rather silently. Without knowing it, China has become one of the main manufacturers for zippers. In recent years, China’s annual output for zippers have exceeded 10 billion meters, the largest one in the world. Zippers made by China also enjoy great advantages in winning markets through their low prices and more than 50% of them are now being exported to other countries and regions.
China’s zippers industry has now gone beyond the former low-priced bulk and labor centralized form and is developing toward different varieties, functions and styles. It is going to win the higher level markets on the basis of innovative products and also has come out with the theory of “Eco-friendly Zipper”.
With China’s expected entry into World Trade Organization, China’s zipper industry is faced with not only challenges from abroad of the same industry but also the impulse to promote its products in global markets by taking advantages of the opportunities accompanied by the WTO entry.
